The Verb

The verb in Multilingua is adaptable to any language. Multilingua is intended to simplify and be comprehensive for speakers, regardless of their mother tongue.

For the explanation of possible conjugations of the verb, we will focus on a concrete example, the verb “to work”: “laborer.”

Due to the difficulty that speakers of numerous languages face in distinguishing between the different meanings of “be” and “have” (as seen in Spanish with “ser” and “estar,” or “haber” and “tener”), the verbs “estar” and “tener” are accepted but not compulsory.

For instance,

  • Essential /timeless/ intrinsic: Ie es negre
  • Circumstantial/ extrinsic: Ie sta negre
